Pittsburgh Shooter - Labeled Crazy by Being 'Conspiracy Theorist', NOT Self-Abuser, Woman Abuser or White-Supremacist

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09095/960750-53.stm

Sure, the Post-Gazette mentions the fact that alleged cop-killer Richard Andrew Poplawski burned the backs of BOTH of his hands with cigarettes. Certainly, it mentions his history of abusing women. Of course it touches on his active membership on White Nationalist 'Stormfront' website.

But the "real" news here is that Poplawski was a Conspiracy Theorist. He ascribed to the notion that there is a political war being waged against the Rights of the People. That is the real essence of the article. Here's the 'tell'...

"For some time now there has been a pretty good connection between being sucked into this conspiracy world and propagating violence," said Heidi Beirich, director of research at the Southern Poverty Law Center and an expert on political extremists. She called Mr. Poplawski's act, "a classic example of what happens when you start buying all this conspiracy stuff."

Mr. Poplawski's murder of 3 of Pittsburgh's finest, according to the article, was because he visited Alex Jones' websites. It had nothing to do with the fact that Poplawski was so unstable that a dog urinating in the house could cause a fight with his mother that escalated to the point of the Police needing to be called. (hey, maybe THAT is the link - any adult that still lives with mommy is a potential mass-murderer?) His inability to complete Basic Training in the USMC - reportedly due to emotional issues - is not indicative of this instability. Assaulting a woman, and threatening to kill her isn't relevant to this discussion. Poplawski ambushed policemen because he wore a tin-foil-hat underneath his Klansman's Hood.

Unfortunately, people will believe this shoddy reporting. Another example of Rahm-Emmanuel-esque technique of not letting a crisis go to waste. Keep on Goosesteppin', Fourth Estate, the end of Free Speech in America depends on you.
